Pythagoras (570 – 495 BC), aka the Triangle Guy, was an ancient Greek philosopher famous for his contributions to mathematics. He planted the seed for for Idealism, which is the representation of things in their most perfect and abstract forms over practical ones and serves as a foundation for Plato’s theories of ideas. He was also among the first to conduct true mathematical proofs.
